St. Vincent’s Hospital Westchester offers a multi-disciplinary and evidence-based treatment approach in all of its inpatient and outpatient programs. The primary objective of treatment is to improve the level of functioning of chemically dependent persons and to assist them in learning the attitudes, skills, abilities and information necessary for successful and fulfilling lives in recover.
Our services include:
Outpatient Addiction Recovery Services (OARS)
The Outpatient Addiction Recovery Services program provides a variety of outpatient addiction services as a follow-up to inpatient or residential treatment or as an alternative to inpatient treatment. Services available at our Harrison campus include a 5 day per week Day Rehabilitation program, a 3 nights per week Intensive Outpatient evening program, Clinic services, DWI services and a Continuing Care program for aftercare . The Maxwell Institute
The Maxwell Institute in Tuckahoe offers outpatient chemical dependency treatment and education services for adults, adolescents and their families at both Clinic and a 3 days weekly Intensive level of care. Click here for more information.
Port Chester Recovery Center
The Port Chester Recovery Center offers Clinic day and evening level of care outpatient chemical dependency services for adults and adolescents, including: screenings, assessments, individual and group therapy, family education, relapse prevention groups, late recovery groups and DWI services. Inpatient Rehabilitation
For those whose level of alcohol or other substance dependence has seriously disrupted their daily functioning, our inpatient rehabilitation program assists individuals in overcoming barriers to recovery. The inpatient rehabilitation program helps patients deal with the issues of early recovery. Patients are taught to recognize the signs and symptoms of the illness, how to manage emotions and stress, and how to recognize triggers to drinking and drug use and relapse. The program provides short-term, structured, intensive treatment of physical and emotional symptoms as well as detoxification when medically necessary. All patients receive thorough aftercare counseling and referral for continuing treatment on an outpatient basis following the completion of the inpatient stay. Click here for more information.
Medication-Assisted Treatment
St. Vincent's chemical dependency programs offer and encourage medication-assisted treatment to support the recovery process in appropriate cases. In conjunction with participation in a counseling program, both oral and long-acting injectable forms of medications such as buprenorphine and naltrexone have been shown to reduce the euphoric effects of opioids, such as heroin, to reduce cravings and/or to ease or eliminate withdrawal symptoms. Co-occurring Disorders
St. Vincent’s provides care to patients who suffer from co-occurring mental illness and chemical dependency in any of our programs, depending on the individual’s needs.
